It’s not Sunday, but summer is finally here (at least in Germany)! And in 12 hours, I’ll be at the Dutch sea! Hopefully enjoying it like Sylvia Plath did 65 years ago! :)

I know it is already too late for this one… this picture has been haunting the internet for may years now and there is no stopping it! However, from time to time, I’m still trying my best to spread the word that this is NOT Sylvia Plath, even though most people don’t care because they want to see Plath in a pose like that! Honestly, I am waiting for the first “Sylvia Plath tattoo” featuring this picture!

The pictures on the right are from the LIFE archives. They were shot by the Russian-born American photographer Nina Leen in 1946 and show the French
actress Barbara Laage (1920-1988) “Alone in her apartment reading” and
“Polishing her shoes”.
When you look closely at the bottom pic, you can
see that this is NOT Sylvia Plath (1932-1963) who btw was 13 at that
time!
Perhaps some day I’ll crawl back home, beaten, defeated. But not as long as I can make stories out of my heartbreak, beauty out of sorrow.
